Why Gamification?

Gamification is a new industry term in the loyalty industry, that comes from the videogame industry. Gamification means "Using game elements, like points, levels, and rewards, to create a behavioural loop that keeps people engaged." In the retail loyalty market, this exciting new gamification approach is beginning to take hold of the world. Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Domino's Pizza each have their own systems for this. Unfortunately, small businesses don't have the same opportunity to grow and retain customers this way due to both cost and complexity.
